Every visitor Church of the Holy Sepulcher at the entrance to the Temple can see the marble TOOlonna, dissected unusual crack.

In 1579, in On Holy Saturday, the Turkish authorities in Jerusalem forbade the Greek Patriarch and other Orthodox believers from entering the Temple for traditional worship and receiving the Holy Fire. The Turkish guards blocked their entrance to the temple and the Christians were forced to pray outside, but the Holy Fire did not descend into Cuvuklia for several hours. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck from the temple column, and the candles of the worshipers outside were lit.

The crack left in the column after it was cut by the Divine flame is still visible to all pilgrims. And from that time to this day, anyone can enter the Church of the Holy Sepulcher to make a prayer and turn to God.

Pilgrims honor this column, pray near it, leave notes addressed to the Lord in the crack 🙏
