What types of prayer services are there and how to order correctly?

In difficult times or, conversely, at a time when it is easy to thank God, we order a prayer service.

In the Russian Orthodox Church, prayer services are called “requirements” - that is, the need to turn to God, the Mother of God, and the saints with a request or thanksgiving.

A prayer service is a special type of service for the living.

What distinguishes a prayer from a simple prayer is that it usually concerns a specific matter or undertaking.

A prayer service can be Supplementary when you ask for something:
- about health,
- about healing the sick,
- about giving children,
- about help in work,
- before starting an important task,
- about material well-being and assistance in business,
- about marriage or finding love,
- about help in getting rid of addictions, etc.

Or it can be Thanksgiving, when you thank the Lord, the Mother of God and the saints for the fulfillment of your request.

A prayer request made within the walls of the Temple with the participation of not only clergy, but also believers, has special power. Believers together ask for mercy, glorify, thank. Such prayers always reach the Lord.

The Savior Christ himself said:
“Truly I also say to you that if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven, for where two or three are gathered in My name, there I am in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:19-20).
