Wooden Jerusalem Cross made of olive wood

The wooden Jerusalem cross made of olive wood was made by local Christian craftsmen in Bethlehem.

Symbolism of the cross:

• The central image is the Crucifixion of Christ – a symbol of the Savior’s atoning sacrifice.
• The upper part is the face of God the Father blessing the world.
• The side images are of the Holy Mother of God and Saint John the Theologian , who stood at the Cross at the moment of the Crucifixion.
• The inscription INRI "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews" as was written on the Cross by order of Pontius Pilate.
• The lower part is an image of the Holy Sepulchre , reminiscent of the Resurrection of Christ.
