Icon of the Mother of God "of Jerusalem" with a colored image

The color image is applied by silk-screen printing on a metal base, making the image bright and durable. The frame details are decorated with gilding and elegant embossing.

The Jerusalem Icon of the Mother of God is revered as one of the most ancient. It is kept in Gethsemane , near the Tomb of the Holy Mother of God, and is known for many miracles.

According to legend, it was painted by the holy evangelist Luke in the 15th year after the Ascension of the Lord in Gethsemane, that is, in the year 48. It became the first of seventy lifetime images of the Mother of God painted by the Apostle Luke.

From the day it was written, it was intended to protect the Jerusalem Christian community.
